Promoting mediation as key alternative for dispute resolution
Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf
Mediation in Kingdom of Bahrain is considered an important mechanism for resolving disputes outside the judicial framework, in an amicable and less formal manner, particularly in commercial, civil and even criminal or family matters. However, mediation in Bahrain faces certain challenges, such as the limited recourse to it and the continued reliance on courts for dispute resolution. Despite the comprehensive legal framework governing the mediation system as an alternative means for resolving disputes.
Therefore, it is important to adopt new and innovative approaches to increase the use of mediation. This involves raising awareness, improving the skills of mediators, and encouraging more individuals and businesses to consider mediation as a preferred alternative to court.
