Lack of public awareness and knowledge regarding the Kingdom of Bahrain’s energy efficiency and renewable energy targets

The Kingdom of Bahrain, through its National Renewable Energy Action Plan (NREAP) and National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP) has set national targets for both renewable energy and energy efficiency for the years 2025 and 2035. Although these action plans were issued in 2017, there remains a lack of public awareness and understanding of the country’s targets. Increasing society’s knowledge about these targets is essential for successful implementation and achieving national objectives. The Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs is seeking input from the youth on innovative ways to raise public awareness in this regard.
