King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment draws 8,200 entries from 100 countries
Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, affirmed that Bahrain continues to strengthen its global role in supporting and empowering young people. She said the King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals reflects Bahrain’s firm commitment to promoting international efforts towards a more sustainable future.
Minister Tawfeeqi noted that the fifth edition of the award builds on previous successes and continues to evolve in line with global trends in sustainable development and technology. She said the introduction of new categories and participation methods has expanded the award’s reach to more young people, individuals, and organisations worldwide.
She added that the award has become an international platform that inspires youth creativity and encourages them to turn their ideas into real projects supporting the Sustainable Development Goals.
The minister highlighted the strong global response to this year’s edition, which reflects growing confidence in the award’s message and reputation. She said the King Hamad Award has become a global symbol of youth excellence and innovation in advancing sustainable development.
Minister Tawfeeqi revealed that the fifth edition attracted over 8,200 entries from more than 100 countries, showing the award’s growing international recognition as a key platform celebrating youth creativity and institutions that support them.
She added that the next stage will include reviewing and assessing all submissions before starting the judging process to select winners in two main categories: one for creative and pioneering youth, and another for youth-supporting initiatives and institutions.
