Youth Affairs Minister chairs second meeting of cooperation committee with youth empowerment centres
Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, chaired the second meeting of the Cooperation Committee between the Ministry of Youth Affairs and youth empowerment centres, as part of efforts to strengthen institutional coordination and support the national youth work system.
The minister highlighted the importance of effective partnership between the ministry and youth empowerment centres in achieving shared objectives, including identifying and developing youth talents, enhancing skills, and improving youth readiness for the future.
She noted that the ministry’s work is guided by a clear strategy based on the vision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, which focuses on strengthening the role of youth centres and supporting the development of programmes aligned with youth aspirations.
The minister commended the engagement of centre heads with the committee’s objectives, noting that unified planning, cooperation, and teamwork contribute to improving programme quality and achieving sustainable outcomes for youth.
The meeting reviewed the proposed programme calendar for 2026, a draft guide for youth centre infrastructure, and the final framework for an awareness programme on investment and business establishment, aimed at promoting initiative and entrepreneurship among young people.
The Cooperation Committee was established by ministerial decision to enhance coordination between the ministry and youth empowerment centres, improve programme quality, exchange expertise, share best practices, and develop partnerships with the private sector to support sustainability in youth work.
