WHO Regional Director visits Youth City 2030
Rawan bint Najeeb tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, accompanied Dr. Hanan bint Hassan Balkhy, WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, on a field visit to Youth City 2030.
Dr. Balkhy was briefed on the city’s innovative programmes and initiatives aimed at empowering Bahraini youth, enhancing their leadership and professional skills through a comprehensive training environment aligned with labor market demands and national development goals.
The visit included detailed presentations on youth health initiatives, awareness platforms, and mental and physical well-being programmes designed to promote sustainable healthy lifestyles.
Dr. Balkhy commended Youth City 2030 as a pioneering model for youth empowerment in the region, highlighting Bahrain’s commitment to youth development and health. She underscored WHO’s interest in enhancing future cooperation with the Ministry of Youth Affairs to support shared youth objectives.
