Youth Minister: Al Mustashar LIVE showcases youth innovation for national progress
The Ministry of Youth Affairs organised a discussion session under the "Al Mustashar LIVE" initiative to engage young people in addressing challenges faced by government sectors and to promote participatory decision-making in national development.
Rawan bint Najeeb tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, underscored the importance of youth contributions in policymaking, highlighting their ability to transform challenges into opportunities through creativity and innovation. She encouraged continued initiative and forward-thinking, noting that today’s ideas can evolve into future development projects.
The Minister described "Al Mustashar" as a strategic platform for involving Bahraini youth in shaping government programmes and sustaining national initiatives. She noted that the initiative builds on the outcomes of the 2020 Youth Summit, held under the directives of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs.
The Minister presented key national challenges for youth to address using a participatory model, inviting proposals based on their experiences and awareness of current trends. Areas discussed included youth affairs, health, media, housing, and information technology.
Minister tawfeeqi commended the active participation of government officials, emphasising that such engagement reflects institutional confidence in Bahrain’s youth and reinforces a culture of trust, communication, and partnership. She confirmed that the resulting recommendations will be submitted to the relevant authorities for further consideration.
The session featured input from young participants on challenges facing the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Youth Affairs, and the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA), resulting in practical, youth-led proposals for implementation.
