Youth Affairs Minister attends closing ceremony of "Gulf Aware Leaders – Wellbeing and Leadership" programme, highlights importance of GCC youth cooperation
Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, attended the closing ceremony of the "Gulf Aware Leaders – Wellbeing and Leadership" programme, noting that it provides a unique platform for developing leadership and developmental skills among youth and opens broader opportunities for interaction and experience exchange among young people from different GCC states.
Minister Tawfeeqi highlighted that such initiatives reinforce a shared Gulf identity and promote a spirit of cooperation among youth in the region. She also emphasised the importance of joint Gulf youth initiatives in strengthening cooperation and solidarity among the youth of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states, in line with the directives of the leaders of the GCC, which consistently encourage enhancing youth capabilities and supporting their progress to play an active role in development and prosperity.
She explained that the ministry ensured the programme was conducted innovatively and qualitatively, integrating training and skills development with recreational activities and visits to key sites in the Kingdom, aiming to provide a comprehensive experience that develops youth skills, enriches their cultural and social knowledge, and enhances their capacity for innovation and community leadership.
The minister highlighted that the success of this programme and other youth initiatives represents a significant step in supporting youth projects and initiatives across the GCC, with a view to continuing and expanding efforts to empower youth to play a vital role in development and prosperity.
She added that she hopes the workshops and training activities included in the programme will help refine youth skills and strengthen their abilities, thereby enhancing their active contribution to community service and positive participation in social development, noting that the experience provided participants with an opportunity to develop leadership skills and foster innovation and initiative, preparing a generation capable of contributing effectively to development and prosperity in the GCC states.
The programme’s closing ceremony included addresses from participating delegations, who highlighted the importance of the programme in developing leadership abilities and personal and social skills among youth. The ceremony also showcased programme outcomes and honoured participants and contributors in an atmosphere reflecting Gulf cooperation and joint youth engagement.
