Youth Affairs Minister receives BDB CEO

Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, received Dalal Al Qais, CEO of the Bahrain Development Bank Group (BDB).

 

 Minister Tawfiqi emphasised the importance of strengthening institutional cooperation between the two parties, noting that the partnership with the BDB is a key pillar in supporting the ambitions of Bahraini youth, particularly in the fields of innovation, entrepreneurship, and youth-led projects.

 She noted that formalising this cooperation will contribute to providing quality opportunities that enable young people to turn their ideas into viable and sustainable projects, in line with the priorities of the National Youth Empowerment Strategy.

 The Minister also commended the Bank’s initiative to establish the "Youth Empowerment Committee", underscoring that this step reflects the Bank’s commitment to fostering a culture of youth support within the institution.  She expressed her hope that the committee will play an influential role in developing programmes and initiatives that empower young people and enhance their abilities in the workplace.

 The meeting also reviewed prospects for future cooperation between the Ministry of Youth Affairs and the BDB, including the implementation of joint programmes aimed at promoting entrepreneurial culture, supporting start-ups, and providing tailored training and consultancy packages for youth.  Members of the Youth Empowerment Committee also presented an overview of the committee’s objectives and tasks, highlighting key initiatives planned to boost youth participation in the workplace and to stimulate their spirit of innovation and leadership.

 On her part, Al Qais expressed the Bank’s interest in strengthening its partnership with the Ministry of Youth Affairs.  She underscored the BDB's commitment to supporting national efforts aimed at empowering young people and enhancing their contribution to sustainable development through the provision of innovative solutions and supportive mechanisms for promising youth projects.
