Youth Affairs Ministry, Bapco Energies sign "Youth City 2030" sponsorship agreement

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Bapco Energies, the integrated energy group leading Bahrain’s energy sector transformation, signed a sponsorship agreement to support "Youth City 2030", the Ministry's flagship training programmer running this summer, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen partnerships between the public and private sectors in support of national initiatives for youth empowerment.

The agreement was signed by Rawan bint Najeeb tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, and Mark Thomas, Group Chief Executive Officer of Bapco Energies.

Minister Tawifiqi highlighted that, following the direction of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Ministry is committed to building more strategic partnerships with the private sector to support the ambitions and empowerment of Bahraini youth.  She noted that this agreement with Bapco Energies reflects a shared vision and represents a significant move towards developing youth talents and preparing them with the skills needed for the future.

The minister added that Bapco Energies’ backing will give additional support to the "Youth City 2030" programme, helping it reach its goal of boosting the skills and capabilities of young Bahrainis.  She also pointed out that such collaboration helps sustain and build on the success of Youth City, allowing more young people to thrive and become role models for others.

This partnership is in line with the Ministry’s aim to create meaningful opportunities for youth to excel in different domains.

Mark Thomas highlighted that Bapco Energies, guided by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, is highly focused on nurturing local young talent and preparing them for leadership positions in various industries.  He emphasised that the company is dedicated to empowering youth through different programmes and activities, aiming to build a strong new generation that will play a key role in the country’s development.

He also noted Bapco Energies’ commitment to participating in this important national initiative, which offers valuable learning and training experiences for young Bahrainis.  He emphasised that supporting "Youth City 2030" is an investment in the nation’s human capital, and through this partnership, the company wants to help young people improve their skills in innovation and sustainability, particularly in the energy sector, to support Bahrain’s goals for a more efficient and sustainable economy.
