Youth Affairs Minister highlights role of youth on Arab Youth Day
Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, affirmed that Arab Youth Day, observed annually on July 5, represents a significant occasion to showcase the promising potential of Bahraini and Arab youth, review their achievements, and acknowledge the hopes placed upon them to build a brighter and more sustainable future for Arab nations. She emphasised that youth form the fundamental pillar of any true renaissance, acting as active partners in the development process and agents of positive change.
The minister said that Bahrain places great importance on youth, guided by the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. All institutions in the Kingdom work diligently to create an enabling environment that unleashes the potential of young people and empowers them to contribute effectively to nation-building.
Minister tawfeeqi added that His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, leads an inspiring national and Arab vision rooted in strong faith in youth capabilities and their ability to shape the future. The initiatives and projects led by HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad have created many opportunities for young people, strengthening their roles in innovation, leadership, and humanitarian work, and allowing them to actively contribute to both current progress and future growth.
She emphasised that strengthening Arab cooperation to empower youth is essential. This requires sharing knowledge, coordinating efforts, and aligning policies to build a strong Arab generation capable of leading the future with confidence and skill. She noted that joint Arab action is a key foundation for boosting youth roles, driving innovation, and reinforcing the values of progress that Arab youth will lead responsibly.
The Minister expressed her pride and gratitude to the youth in Bahrain and across the Arab world who have made giving and responsibility part of their lives. She commended their dedication to serving their communities and contributing to growth and prosperity. She underscored that, with their strong belief in their mission and values, the youth of the Arab world are steadily working towards a future that fulfils their ambitions and their nations’ hopes for a better tomorrow.
