Youth Minister chairs youth empowerment committee meeting
Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, chaired the first 2025 meeting of the Youth Empowerment Committee in the Public and Private Sectors.
The minister emphasised the committee’s commitment to launching initiatives and programs that empower young people across various domains, enhance their roles, and create opportunities for them to achieve their ambitions while contributing to societal development and shaping the future.
Minister Tawfeeqi highlighted the success of last year’s initiatives in showcasing Bahraini youth and strengthening their presence in both the public and private sectors. She also noted the recognition of accomplished and inspiring individuals.
She emphasized that the current year will introduce further initiatives aimed at developing youth skills, enhancing their abilities, and expanding available opportunities.
During the meeting, the committee commended the Labour Fund (Tamkeen) for incorporating youth empowerment indicators into its website and expressed hope that more entities would adopt similar initiatives to increase awareness of Bahraini youth participation in the labor market.
The committee reviewed several agenda items, including proposals to enhance youth participation in the media sector and updates on national youth empowerment pprograms and initiatives. Discussions also covered the annual awareness program designed to facilitate youth access to public services through dialogue sessions with representatives from government and private sector entities.
