Youth Minister highlights International Youth Day
Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, emphasised that His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's vision has helped to firmly establish the role of youth as a key driver across various sectors. It has enabled them to showcase their skills in diverse developmental domains, making them an effective national force that contributes to decision-making and leads initiatives efficiently and competently.
The Minister noted that the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, have strengthened the adoption of initiatives and policies supporting youth and the optimal investment in their energies by continuing to empower them, considering this a firm national priority and cementing their role as a pivotal element in building the nation’s present and future.
She added that the support of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, is a clear source of inspiration for growth and achievement. She commended His Highness's belief in the youth’s ability to be a driving force for development, emphasising that this belief has been translated into quality opportunities enabling youth to achieve pioneering accomplishments that have become a source of national pride and helped establish their role as true partners in sustainable national transformation.
On the occasion of International Youth Day, Minister Tawfiqi highlighted that the Ministry of Youth Affairs is keen to continue enhancing a comprehensive and integrated system of programmes and initiatives dedicated to empowering youth and developing their skills, nurturing their ambitions and investing in their energies. She noted that the Ministry continues its work at an accelerating pace, driven by an ambitious vision based on innovation and sustainability to empower young people.
The Minister highlighted that youth are a nation’s greatest asset and the driving force behind progress and prosperity. She pointed out that Bahraini young people, with their awareness, skills, and ambition, have shown they can make a real difference across many areas. She also said their creativity and determination help build a stronger, more sustainable society ready to meet future challenges with confidence.
Minister Tawfiqi encouraged all Bahraini youth to take advantage of opportunities, keep growing their skills, and expand their outlook. She confirmed that the Ministry’s plans aim to create more chances for young people to play a real role in the country’s development and shape a bright future for Bahrain, leading with creativity and excellence and reflecting the nation’s hopes for a better, more sustainable tomorrow.
The Ministry of Youth Affairs will organise a special national celebration on Tuesday, August 12, in commemoration of International Youth Day at Youth City 2030. The event will feature a rich programme reflecting the high status enjoyed by Bahraini youth and highlighting key initiatives supporting their empowerment and enhancing their contribution to sustainable development, stemming from a firm national vision that believes youth are the foundation of the present and hope for the future.
