Youth Minister: International Day of Peaceful Coexistence emphasises Bahrain’s leadership in promoting peace
Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, said that the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s proposal, submitted by the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence, to designate January 28 as the International Day of Peaceful Coexistence is a global achievement. She emphasised that this recognition highlights the Kingdom’s position as a regional and international leader in promoting tolerance and peace.
Minister Tawfeeqi highlighted that this achievement aligns with the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Majesty’s efforts to promote a culture of peace and further consolidating global unity. She also noted the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for national initiatives aimed at fostering tolerance, solidarity, and coexistence.
She said that Bahrain, in line with its international responsibilities, has taken a leading role with this initiative, which has gained global appreciation and recognition. The minister noted that the international community supported the proposal, further cementing Bahrain’s role as a unifying voice for peace and coexistence. She added that this initiative sheds light on key global concerns and contributes to fostering dialogue and enhancing the culture of peaceful coexistence.
Minister Tawfeeqi emphasised that the adoption of this proposal reflects Bahrain’s ongoing commitment to promoting understanding, communication, and coexistence worldwide. She described it as a renewed call for peace and human cooperation, paving the way for a brighter future where peaceful coexistence serves as a bridge towards a more tolerant and united world.
