Youth Minister: over 230 programmes and 6,442 training opportunities to develop youthsSkills
Rawan bint Najeeb tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, highlighted the successes of Youth City 2030 this year, attributing them to the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. She noted that His Majesty’s visit to the city reflected his support for youth as builders of the present and pioneers of the future.
The Minister added that the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, has provided a foundation for youth initiatives, positioning young people as a cornerstone of sustainable development in Bahrain.
She also commended the vision of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of HM the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, whose directives focus on providing quality training, developing skills, and giving youth opportunities to explore their talents, making them an active and creative force in nation-building.
Minister tawfeeqi reported that this year’s Youth City 2030 season included over 230 training programmes, engaging more than 4,400 young participants, and offered around 6,400 specialised training opportunities.
She noted that the city helped develop 402 young talents, supported more than 84 projects in the youth market, 140 initiatives under the "Young Traders" programme, and established over 145 partnerships with local and international organisations. The event attracted more than 5,000 visitors, with 248 volunteers contributing to its success.
The Minister emphasised the role of strategic partners, including Tamkeen, Al Zayani Investments, Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait (BBK), Bapco Energies, and The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA). She noted that this collaborative approach was key to achieving the city’s objectives and advancing its mission to empower youth and develop their capabilities.
The Minister also commended the active participation of youth and their families, who embraced the city’s opportunities to enhance skills and explore potential, preparing them to become future leaders and contributors to national development.
