Minister of Youth Affairs: Tree Week embodies a national vision to enhance environmental awareness and promote a culture of sustainability among youth

Her Excellency Mrs. Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, praised the launch of the “Tree Week” initiative by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God protect him. She also commended His Royal Highness’s directive to organize the “Innovation in Irrigation Solutions Competition,” which aims to encourage creative ideas and innovative solutions that contribute to utilizing the surplus of treated water and improving its efficiency in agriculture and afforestation—thereby supporting resource sustainability, environmental preservation, and the expansion of irrigation networks.

This came during Her Excellency’s participation in planting a number of trees at the Hamad Town Model Youth Center as part of the Tree Week activities.

Her Excellency affirmed that the Innovation in Irrigation Solutions Competition will inspire young minds to develop creative approaches to modern irrigation technologies. She called on Bahraini youth to actively participate in the competition and share their innovative ideas that reflect their future-oriented visions and demonstrate their ability to contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Youth Affairs places great importance on enhancing environmental awareness among youth through its programs and initiatives that integrate sustainability concepts into youth work. She stressed the Ministry’s commitment to fostering a culture of social and environmental responsibility and inspiring young people to be genuine partners in building a more sustainable future for the Kingdom of Bahrain.
